Terms and privacy

Tickets on this site are sold by the society you choose at checkout. Its name is on your booking email.

Card payments are taken by Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe and never to us.

If you pay by bank transfer, your place is held while the society matches your transfer against the screenshot you uploaded. If they cannot match it, the booking is released and you are told by email.

Your ticket is a QR code, emailed once payment is confirmed. Each ticket admits one person once, and the first scan is the one that gets in, so keep it to yourself.

To give a ticket to someone else, ask the society that sold it. They can change the name on it.

Refunds are at the discretion of the society you bought from. Ask them using the contact on your booking email. If the event is cancelled, you are refunded the ticket price.

Events are 18 and over unless the event page says otherwise. Bring government photo ID. Entry is subject to the venue’s own conditions, and a ticket does not entitle you to a refund if the venue refuses you under them.

If the date or venue changes, your ticket is valid for the new one, and you can ask the society for a refund instead.

This site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, London ABACUS and its member societies are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it, from an event, or from anything outside their reasonable control. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the price you paid for your ticket.

Your name, your email address, your phone number if you give one, the university you choose, your answers to the checkout questions, what you bought and what you paid, and, if you pay by bank transfer, the screenshot you upload. Card details go to Stripe, not to us. Page visits are counted per event without recording who visited.

To hold your booking, confirm your payment, issue your ticket and check it at the door, and to email you about the event: your booking, your ticket, a reminder on the day, and any change to it. The society you bought from may also email you about its later events. Reply to any of those to stop them.

The legal bases are the contract you make when you buy, and our legitimate interest in running the events.

Bank-transfer screenshots are deleted 60 days after the event. Booking records are kept so that a later question about a booking or a payment can be answered. Ask and we delete or anonymise yours, unless a society still needs it for its accounts.

To ask about your details, contact the society you bought from using the contact on your booking email. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by us. Your other details are held with access limited to the committee members who need them, and bank-transfer screenshots are kept in private storage. No system is perfectly secure, so please share only what the checkout asks for.

This site sets no cookies for ticket buyers. Organisers get a sign-in cookie.
